National Licensure Examination for Nurses

Eligibility

All nurses who seek initial registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council are eligible to take licensure examinations as follows:

Examination Fee

The examination fees is fifty Pula (P50.00 non-refundable for each sitting).

Passing standard

The grading system is either pass or fail, the applicant must score as recommended by the NMCB.

Time and Frequency of the examination

National Licensure Examination for Nurses conducted twice a year in the months of January and July.

The candidate is allowed four more chances to re-sit or retake the licensure examination as determined by the NMCB after which they should go for rehabilitation.

Registration with NMCB

Once the candidates have successfully passed the licensure examinations, they can apply for registration as General Nurses to the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Botswana.
